About The Gallery

For 20 years during the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s I lived and worked in Tokyo, Japan (preceeded by two years in Taiwan and Hong Kong). During that time I studied the Japanese language and the culture and collected Japanese art and antiques. The articles acquired for my collection were all purchased from the Japanese themselves and therefore have excellent provenance. Pieces from my collection can be found in museums and serious art collections around the globe.

A few years ago I opened a small, owner-operated art gallery in Nova Scotia, by the shore of St. Mary’s Bay. All woodblock prints are identified and certified originals. I hope you enjoy what the Haynes-Paton Collection has to offer here and would be happy to respond to any inquiries about it.
